Physical Education

“If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment and exercise, not too little and not too much, we would have found the safest way to health.”

Education must be holistic. During secondary school, teenagers experience changes in their bodies and an increased awareness of their personal appearance. Exercise is an essential part of a successful life and therefore OMC encourages your child to move beyond the level of Primary Physical Education training in which gross and fine motor skills are developed into the important phase of grooming their own self image, futher developing coordination and concentration and defining their body and person in the way they desire.

Sports instil discipline, build confidence and increase physical strength. At OMC, we are cognisant of the need to shape your child now and teach them the importance of fitness for their future. The benefits of exercise include improved relaxation, better sleep, increased immune function, and balanced hormones which is very important during the teenage years!

Onsite facilities include: 4-lane swimming pool (boys and girls, basketball half-court, gymnasium and soccer pitch.

“Last year, I couldn’t swim. I was afraid to even get into the pool. But my swimming coach taught me how to conquer my fear which has helped me in my studies because now, I’m not afraid to try anything!” –Nicole, Year 8
